Farhana Ferdous Luna has been working as a full-time faculty in the Department of Population Sciences, University of Dhaka . Luna has founded Parenting Journey ___ a center for parenting training. She completed her BSS and MSS in Sociology from University of Dhaka. Her second Master was MSc in Gerontology from Southampton University, UK (with Commonwealth Scholarship Award). Luna had been awarded Merit-Based Assistantship for PhD Program in Human Development & Family Science, Syracuse University, New York, USA where she acquired 24 credit PhD Coursework (one-year full-time). She is experienced in Child Development field. Her field of interest includes Marriage and Family, Aging, Child Development, Parenting, Fatherhood and Fathering, Mindfulness. She is a Commonwealth Scholar. She is also a member of Gerontological Society of America (GSA).

Luna worked as an Assistant Teacher at BMW Child Development Laboratory School run by Syracuse University, New York, USA where she had the opportunity to serve young children (aged 1.5 to 5 years with multicultural background) under the supervision of a highly experienced head teacher with 35 years’ experience in early childhood development field. This hands-on work experience helped Luna to apply her theoretical knowledge learned in US classroom (through coursework) into practice
She completed several trainings on Early Childhood Development, Child Supervision, Child Abuse and Maltreatment from New York State Office of Children and Family Services, USA.
Being a Teaching Assistant (TA), Luna had the opportunity to serve undergraduate students (Syracuse University, NY, USA) enrolled in ‘Play and Child Development’ course.
She also has a little Experience in Toy Development Lab in Syracuse, NY, USA.
Luna learned child development related theoretical knowledge in US classroom through coursework. She also learned child development related tips, tools, techniques, strategies from her direct dealing with young children at BMW Child Development Laboratory School run by Syracuse University, New York, USA. So, altogether her knowledge and experiences in the field of Human Development & Family Science from USA has given Luna a solid foundation to work in child development field and especially in parenting area.
